Located beside Beijing West Railway Station, Lotus Pond reveals how ancient water shaped the city long before railways arrived. Through personal memories, historical research, and the perspective of water civilization, this article explores how rivers, lakes, ponds, and canals preserve the memory of both cities and civilizations.
