From stationary fish traps and seine nets to fish baskets, drift nets and longlines, it reveals how generations of fishermen learned to read the lake before they learned to catch fish, preserving a unique body of ecological wisdom that has endured for thousands of years.

Through the exhibition at Seemuseum Kreuzlingen in Switzerland, this article explores nineteenth-century lake transportation, the ship's final voyage, underwater archaeological discoveries, and how navigation lights, storm warning systems and shared regulations transformed navigation on Lake Constance. More than a shipwreck, JURA became part of the history of safer navigation and everyday life on the lake.
